Check Yourself Before You Riggidy Wreck Yourself — Holiday Edition 🎄

When Routine Gets Hijacked

Let’s be honest, friend — when your routine gets hijacked, especially during the holidays, it’s like your nervous system throws up a little white flag and says, “Nope. We’re done here.”

The schedule shifts. The house fills up. The to-do list grows. And suddenly, you’re overstimulated, overwhelmed, and two seconds away from saying something you might regret to the turkey (or your in-laws).

Sound familiar? You’re not alone.

The Nervous System and the Holiday Hustle

The truth is, our nervous system craves rhythm, routine, and rest. But the holidays? They tend to serve chaos with a side of cranberry sauce.

That interruption of routine — the lack of sleep, the overstimulation, the emotional energy of gatherings — it all adds up. Before you know it, your inner peace has packed up and gone on vacation without you.

Energy Leaks: Where Is Your Power Going?

This is where awareness comes in.

Pause for a moment and ask yourself:

  • Where am I overextending myself?

  • Where am I leaking energy trying to please or perfect?

  • Where am I giving more than I actually have?

You can’t pour from an empty cup, my friend. But you can start noticing when your cup is running low. Because awareness itself is the first step toward balance.

Before You Burn the Turkey…

Before you burn the turkey, curse at your in-laws, or forget the cranberry sauce — check yourself before you riggidy wreck yourself.

Pause. Breathe. Laugh if you can. You don’t have to get it all right — you just have to stay present.

You matter too.

And remember, at least I’m here cursing right along with you (lovingly, of course).

Give Yourself Permission to Be Human

You don’t need to “rise above” every holiday stressor or spiritualize your exhaustion. Sometimes, the most soulful thing you can do is admit: “I’m maxed out right now.”

That’s not failure — that’s awareness. And awareness is where the healing begins.
