The Power of the Present Moment: How Intuition Flows When We Stop Forcing

We Get What We’re Looking For

Here’s a truth I’ve seen again and again — both in my own life and in the lives of my clients: We get what we’re looking for.

If we’re looking for stress, we’ll find it. If we’re looking for peace, it’s quietly waiting for us to notice it. And if we’re looking for control… well, life has a funny way of laughing and saying, “Good luck with that.”

Our minds are powerful filters. They scan the world, picking up what matches our focus. So, if we spend our energy worrying about the past or over-planning the future, it’s no wonder we feel exhausted.

But when we choose to care for the moment we’re in — something shifts. Life becomes softer, more intuitive, more human.

Life Is Made of Moments — That’s It

That’s all it’s ever been. A collection of moments strung together by breath, choice, and awareness.

Yet how often do we live anywhere but here?We replay yesterday’s mistakes, we pre-stress about tomorrow’s schedule, and we forget to notice the present moment quietly whispering, “Hey… I’m right here.”

We can’t change the past. The future hasn’t even arrived yet. So maybe — just maybe — the best thing we can do is take care of right now.

When we do, even the phrase “I’ll take it as it comes” feels lighter. It’s no longer a surrender; it’s an act of trust.

The Intuitive Flow Lives in the Present

As an intuitive life coach (and nurse of 25+ years), I’ve learned that intuition doesn’t shout from the past or predict the future. It lives right here — in the stillness between thoughts, the breath between tasks, the pause between “what if” and “what now.”

Intuition flows when we stop forcing. It shows up when we create space — not when we fill it with overthinking or overdoing.

When you’re present, you start to feel more: Peace in your body Clarity in your choices Connection to your own inner knowing

That’s where transformation begins.

Humor Helps, Too

Because let’s be honest — life’s not always neat and tidy. Sometimes “being present” looks like remembering where you put your coffee (hint: it’s probably cold by now).

But humor brings us back into the body. It grounds us. It reminds us that we don’t need to get it perfect — we just need to show up.

And showing up, moment by moment, is the most spiritual thing we can do.

A Gentle Invitation

Take care of this moment. The one you’re in right now.

Breathe. Feel. Notice. Because this — not yesterday, not tomorrow — is where your life actually happens.

And if you’re ready to explore what it means to live (and lead) from that intuitive, present space — I’d love to walk beside you.

With love and presence,

Dawn
