Is This Really in Your Highest Good? The Question That Changes Everything

Before You Say Yes, Ask Yourself This

What if one simple question could help you make better decisions, trust yourself more deeply, and uncover the beliefs that have been quietly running your life?

Friend, here it is:

✨ Is this in my highest good? ✨

Now before your brain immediately jumps to "Are we getting all spiritual and weird today?" hang with me.

Because this isn't about judging yourself.

It's not about denying yourself what you want.

And it certainly isn't about turning every life decision into a spiritual scavenger hunt.

It's about getting honest.

Really honest.

Why This Question Matters

Most of us move through life making decisions on autopilot.

We say yes because we feel obligated.

We say no because we're afraid.

We chase things because we think they'll finally make us feel enough.

And sometimes we avoid the very things we want because we're terrified of what happens if we actually get them.

But when you pause and ask:

"Is this in my highest good?"

everything slows down.

And in that pause, something fascinating happens.

You begin uncovering the deeper reason behind your desires.

The Money Example

Let's talk about money for a second.

Because money tends to bring up all sorts of feelings.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more money.

None.

Zero.

Zip.

But ask yourself why.

For me, my oldest daughter will be heading off to college soon.

And while I lovingly refer to her current vehicle as a "shit box," it's served us well.

But I'd love to be able to help her get something safer and more reliable as she works full-time while attending college full-time.

See the difference?

Now we're not talking about money for money's sake.

We're talking about:

• Safety• Support• Opportunity• Freedom• Love

The money isn't the goal.

It's the vehicle.

Pun absolutely intended. 😏

Where Limiting Beliefs Hide

This is where things get interesting.

When you start asking yourself why you want something, you often run directly into the beliefs that have been quietly limiting you.

Maybe you believe:

• Wanting more is selfish.

• Good people shouldn't desire money.

• Being spiritual means you shouldn't care about material things.

• You should be grateful for what you already have and stop asking for more.

Friend, that's not gratitude.

That's guilt wearing a gratitude costume.

And there's a difference.

You can be deeply grateful for what you have while simultaneously desiring growth, expansion, and more possibilities.

Both can exist at the same time.

Capacity Changes Everything

When your desires are rooted in alignment rather than fear, ego, or validation, something beautiful happens.

You create capacity.

Capacity to receive.

Capacity to serve.

Capacity to help.

Capacity to love.

Capacity to become more of who you already are.

That's what living in alignment really feels like.

Not perfection.

Not hustle.

Not proving your worth.

Just truth.

Your Invitation Today

Take one thing you're currently wanting.

One thing you've been thinking about, dreaming about, or working toward.

Then ask yourself:

✨ Is this in my highest good? ✨

And then ask:

Why?

Keep peeling back the layers.

Get curious.

Get honest.

And see what shows up.

Because sometimes the thing you're chasing isn't actually what you want.

And sometimes it is exactly what you want—but for reasons far more beautiful than you realized.

Either way, you'll learn something valuable about yourself.

And that's always in your highest good.

With love, humor, and a little truth-telling,

Dawn 💛
